Ryan Abell

What do you enjoy most about the work you do?
I love that our work directly affects the lives of so many Indiana employees and their families.
What's a notable work-related achievement that makes you proud?
Leaving a stable job to join the advisory side of healthcare was a huge risk, but it was worth it to now have the opportunity to serve Indiana employers rather than multi-billion dollar carriers and their shareholders.
Do you have any pets at home?
Tyson. He is a ten year old human boy. He is cute, plays on the floor, likes to go outside, and eats everything.
What's one fun fact about yourself that surprises others?
I have an amateur radio license.

Education & Experience

2019-2022

Ryan joined the LHD team in 2022 as a Benefit Advisor.

2019-2022

Ryan joined Cigna as a New Business Manager.

2006-2019

Ryan spent the next 13 years at Anthem, most recently as an Account Manager responsible for facilitating complex sales and and health care management strategies for some of Indiana’s largest employer groups.

2003-2006

Ryan began his career as a Producer with Neace Lukens Insurance, driving revenue from new plans and renewals of small to large group insurance plans.

1999-2003

Ryan received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Hanover College.
